The "Social Development Center" (CDS) Association is a non-governmental, non-profit, autonomous, and apolitical organization.

Activities

CDS aims to carry out the following types of activities::

  • Educational activities: training courses, professional development courses, and information sessions.
  • Cultural actions, including the promotion and support of cultural projects.
  • Ensuring the implementation of community social assistance programs.
  • Producing and publishing books, periodicals, leaflets, posters, brochures, software programs, and other informational materials related to the association’s purpose.
  • Conducting research, analyses, studies, and projects to identify needs, set priorities, and develop social development programs.
  • Consultancy for accessing funding sources, especially consultancy for social development programs and projects.
  • Encouraging and supporting private initiatives by establishing centers that provide quality services for people at risk of social exclusion.
  • Supporting documentary study placements, professional development programs, and experience exchanges in the socio-human field.
  • Organizing, or providing support for the organization of, colloquia, symposiums, and conferences on relevant topics.
  • Collaborating with authorities, public institutions, medical centers, international organizations, and relevant associations and foundations, as well as with other partners in Romania and abroad, individuals and/or legal entities, in order to achieve the association’s stated purpose.
  • Encouraging the securing of sponsorships and donations, and carrying out fundraising activities.
  • Promoting and providing education and vocational training programs, qualification, requalification, continuing professional training, and specialization.
  • Providing a professionally supported framework for running volunteer programs for young people, aimed at counseling, training, professional development, and specialization.

Purpose

The Social Development Center T&CO (CDS) is an NGO established in 2011 with the purpose of contributing to the sustainable social development of local communities.

The Social Development Center T&CO (CDS), the project beneficiary, is a non-governmental organization whose purpose is to contribute to the sustainable social development of local and regional communities.

The Social Development Center T&CO has consistently carried out educational activities, internships, and vocational training courses, ensuring a continuous and much-needed infusion of education and training for all age and social groups (employees, unemployed persons, inactive persons, disadvantaged individuals, etc.).

The Social Development Center T&CO actively promotes lifelong learning by providing vocational training programs aimed at improving professional skills and increasing competitiveness on the labor market. To this end, CDS delivers both courses authorized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity in various fields (such as Digital Skills, Retail Worker, and Textile Products Assembler) as well as non-formal courses (e.g., Digital Marketing, E-commerce, Database Management, Online Sales and Negotiation Techniques, and Training Programs in Occupational Health and Safety).

Since 2014, the Social Development Center T&CO (CDS) has implemented over 10 EU-funded projects focused on vocational training activities for various target groups, including: POSDRU/127/G/5.1/128213, POSDRU144/6.3/G/135227, POCU/726/6/12/135438, POCU/726/6/12/133989, POCU/1080/3/16/157124, and POCU/1080/3/16/157176.

CDS is an active stakeholder in the North-East Region, as evidenced by its collaborations with pre-university and higher education institutions to integrate vocational training programs into their curricula, as well as by its partnerships with the private sector through the involvement of companies in providing traineeships and internships, thereby ensuring a mutually beneficial exchange of experience for both parties.

The Social Development Center T&CO is an important actor at local, regional, and national level in strengthening the capacity of NGOs and social partners to actively engage—together with public authorities—in shaping public policies in the fields of employment and social inclusion.

CDS is a member of the Regional Pact for Employment and Social Inclusion in the North-East Region and provides the Secretariat for this Pact, a founding member of the Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations for Social Services (FONSS), and a full member of the National Anti-Poverty Network – Social Inclusion.
